05.07.2007 [08:06] :: Boeing [NYSE: BA] has delivered a second Next-Generation 737-800 to leasing company Babcock & Brown for lease to transavia.com, the new Orly, France-based low-fare carrier owned jointly by Dutch airline Transavia and French airline Air France, bringing the number of 737-800s in their fleet to four.
Boeing previously delivered a 737-800 to Babcock & Brown for lease by transavia.com in May. Transavia.com plans to add three additional 737-800s in 2008 and two in 2009. The 737-800s are configured in a 186-seat, all-economy layout. Air France and Transavia established transavia.com earlier this year, with 60 percent and 40 percent ownership, respectively. The new airline will operate an all-Boeing fleet of 737-800s, serving destinations such as Porto, Portugal; Girona, Spain; Palermo and Catania in Sicily; Heraclion in Crete; Monastir and Djerba in Tunisia; and Agadir and Oujda in Morocco.

Boeing has begun work on the first Boeing Business Jet 3 (BBJ 3). The BBJ 3 is a new, larger business jet based on the Boeing Next-Generation 737-900ER (extended range), which entered commercial service and was certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in April 2007. Certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency occurred in April 2008.
