IBERIA MOVES TO TERMINAL 1 AT CAIRO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Madrid - On March 9th, Iberia will move its flight operations from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 at Cairo International airport, which has been newly renovated. The ticket counter of the Spanish airline will be next to the Royal Jordanian offices and near to British Airways ticket counters, both partner airlines in the oneworld alliance. The British airline will move to Terminal 1 a week later than Iberia.

In the Terminal 1 of the Egyptian capital airport, Iberia passengers will be offered more modern and functional facilities. Passengers flying on Business class will have access to an airport lounge in the just renovated terminal, with an assorted catering service, Internet access and a more comfortable rest area.

Iberia flies five times a week between Cairo and Madrid with Airbus A319 aircraft. From there passengers can travel on to another 36 Spanish destinations, 38 European cities, four destinations in the United States, as well as 17 Latin American cities of Iberia’s network. In 2009, the Spanish airline carried about 54,000 passengers on this route. Their favourite destinations were Bogota, Buenos Aires, Mexico D.F. and Sao Paulo in Latin America, Lisbon and Paris in Europe, and Barcelona, together with Valencia, in Spain.
