Madrid - Iberia has signed a contract, under which it will repair and maintain CFM56-7B engines used on Air Europa’s Boeing 737-800 fleet, made of 33 aircraft, at the installations of Iberia Maintenance in Madrid.
This contract, that has a five-year term, is the latest in a series of new agreements, which Iberia has recently reached with carriers such as Eurofly-Meridiana, Pluna, Privilege, Olympic Airways, Conviasa, Air Comet and Aurora Airlines, among others.
Air Europa is Spain’s third airline. Its fleet is made of 40 modern aircraft and operates flights in Spain, Europe, Northern Africa, Asia and the Americas.
Iberia Maintenance has broad experience in the maintenance of airframes, engines, and components. In 2007, it inspected 1,273 aircraft, 145 engines, 34 APUs (Auxiliary Power Units) and 68,083 components. Under the Iberia Group’s 2006-2008 strategic plan the maintenance division is striving to double its revenues from outside clients, especially through maintenance of engines, components, and other high added-value tasks.
