Alenia Aeronautica, ein Unternehmen von Finmeccanica, hat erfolgreich den Bruchtest an der Höhenflosse des Boeing 787 Dreamliners abgeschlossen. Der Test fand in Anwesenheit von Boeing-Ingenieuren und Vertretern der US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) und der European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) im Alenia-Werk Pomigliano in Neapel statt. Die Höhenflosse wird von Alenia Aeronautica im Werk in Foggia in Apulien produziert.

Am 1. Mai 2008 hat die Endmontage des dritten Boeing 787 Dreamliners, der für die Flugtests vorgesehen ist, begonnen.

Boeing [NYSE: BA] announced a revised plan for first flight and initial deliveries of the 787 Dreamliner that includes additional schedule margin to reduce risk of further delays on the program.

Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air finalized negotiations for up to 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliners in a deal that could be worth approximately $3.9 billion at list prices if all options are exercised.

The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] and Air Pacific announced that the Fiji-based airline has ordered three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners in addition to a 2006 order for five of the high-technology jetliners.

Boeing [NYSE: BA] and London-based British Airways have finalized an order for eight Boeing 787-8s and 16 787-9s, raising the total number of 787s ordered worldwide from 766 to 790 and taking the 787 order book past the 787th mark. The order is valued at $4.4 billion at list prices.
