15.06.2011 :: KLM resumes scheduled service to Rio de Janeiro
After a period of 12 years, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will resume scheduled service between Amsterdam and Rio de Janeiro with effect from 1 November 2011. Rio will then become KLM's 70th intercontinental destination.
02.03.2011 :: KLM launches scheduled service to Havana
LM Royal Dutch Airlines will launch thrice-weekly service to José Martí International Airport on Cuba with effect from its 2011 winter schedule starting 31 October. Cuba will then become KLM's 68th intercontinental destination.
05.07.2010 :: Alitalia Joins Air France-KLM Group, Delta Air Lines in Industry
Alitalia, Italy's leading airline, today joined the Air France-KLM Group (OTC: AFLYY) and Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) as a member of the airline industry's leading trans-Atlantic joint venture. Launched in April 2009, the multi-party agreement created a single, coordinated network for customers flying across the Atlantic, allowing the member airlines to share revenues and costs on their trans-Atlantic routes.

In March, the passenger and cargo businesses each showed a further marked recovery both in terms of traffic and unit revenues. Even though unit revenues were significantly above last year's level, including in premium class, they remained below the levels achieved in March 2008.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will launch scheduled service between Amsterdam and Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport in China on 8 May 2010. KLM is the first airline to offer direct service between Hangzhou and Europe. This sixth destination in China consolidates KLM's position in this fast-growing market.
