21.05.2008 :: Work Begins on First Boeing Business Jet 3
Boeing has begun work on the first Boeing Business Jet 3 (BBJ 3). The BBJ 3 is a new, larger business jet based on the Boeing Next-Generation 737-900ER (extended range), which entered commercial service and was certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in April 2007. Certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency occurred in April 2008.

The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] and Jakarta-based Lion Air celebrated the delivery of the airline's 10th Next-Generation 737-900ER (Extended Range) airplane. The airplane, shown here during a test flight, will be used by the airline to expand its service with new destinations throughout South and Southeast Asia.

The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] today confirmed an order for three Next-Generation 737s by national flag carrier Turkmenistan Airlines. The order for two 737-900ERs and one 737-700 is worth approximately $221 million at list prices.

The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] and Jakarta-based Lion Air today announced an order for 56 Next-Generation 737-900ER (Extended Range) airplanes. This order, valued at more than $4.4 billion at current list prices, brings Lion Air's combined orders for the 737-900ER to 178. Additionally, the airline acquired purchase rights for an additional 50 737-900ERs.

30.04.2007 :: Boeing Delivers First 737-900ER to Launch Customer Lion Air
The Boeing Company and launch- customer Lion Air today celebrated the delivery of the first Next-Generation 737-900ER (Extended Range) airplane. The airplane was delivered in a special dual paint scheme that combines the Lion Air lion on the vertical stabilizer and the Boeing livery colors on the fuselage. Boeing launched the 737-900ER program in July 2005 when Jakarta-based Lion Air announced the initial order for 30 of the newest 737 model.
